People in business. Do you know who your client is?

Personas are one of the basic prerequisites of a successful business campaign or advertisement. Many of the companies use personas to create and target ads, even if they have no idea what the personas themselves mean. We therefore decided to introduce this topic to all our readers who have not yet heard of characters or do not know their hidden potential.

Know your client

The article was revised and updated in May 2026.

We can use the term persona to denote your client's prototype. When defining personas, it is important to pay attention to several facts. It is your view and description of your customers, which is supplemented with real data measured in surveys and questionnaires, or data from the statistics of analytical tools (e.g. Google Analytics). The result of combining this information is a persona characteristic, which contains a detailed description of the personal and work characteristics of your ideal customer.

Persóny vám doslova pomôžu spoznať vašich klientov, a vy tak môžete jednoduchšie cieliť vaše reklamné kampane, upravovať vašu ponuku, či dokonca aj samotné produkty alebo služby. A to všetko s cieľom efektívnejšie vyhovieť potrebám vašich zákazníkov.

What to watch out for when creating personas

The creation of personas in your company should not be underestimated. This is a key point in creating your next advertising campaign. It is important that you base yourself on real data and not succumb to your feelings. In the description of the personas, include demographic data, work experience, goals of your customers, as well as their favorite leisure activities or the answer to the question of how you can help them solve a problem. A well-developed persona should therefore include, among other things:

  • gender, age and marital status of the customer,
  • financial situation – occupation, salary, monthly amount of expenses,
  • leisure activities – favorite movies, sports, books, or other activities related to personal life,
  • the customer's purchasing behavior in the offline and online space ("Does he shop more often online or in a store? Does he use price comparators? Does he read reviews on the Internet? What guides him when choosing a product?"),
  • problems and their solutions - what problem can I help my customer solve?

If, for example, our client answered these questions Profikuchar.sk, his personas would look like this:

"My persona is a woman aged 25-30, employed in a managerial position, earning more than 1500 EUR per month. She likes running, tennis and good movies (romantic comedies or fantasy). She is in a relationship, but she spends a lot of free time with her friends. She only buys basic food physically, she buys all other products online to save time. She cares about other customers' reviews and is willing to spend more money if the product really high quality. He is currently furnishing a new apartment and is therefore looking for quality kitchen appliances and equipment for his new kitchen."

possibly:

"My persona is a chef who has been working in the catering industry for more than 10 years. He is 25-35 years old and works in a small hotel in the center of the Tatras. He was ordered by his boss to buy new kitchen equipment with a budget of 5000 EUR. Being quality conscious, he is looking for more expensive knives, appliances and clothes for chefs and auxiliary force. He likes European brands, paying attention to the longevity of the products and their design."

or from another area:

"My person is the owner or manager of a restaurant in the center of Bratislava. He is 40-50 years old and is looking for complete kitchen equipment with a budget of EUR 30,000. He is interested in professional kitchen appliances - stoves, dishwashers, refrigerators and ovens. In addition, he is also looking for stainless steel tables, dishes, cutlery and other kitchen equipment. As he emphasizes quality, he is only looking for professional products with a long-lasting guarantee."

You don't have to make big compromises when creating personas - if you have several different people based on analysis, research or other factual data, create more personas. Ideally at least two. However, try to describe them objectively and with the intention of revealing their true characteristics.

How do personas help you increase your profits?
