We updated the article in 2026 - we went through the text, links and illustrative images.
For many years I have been trying to increase productivity, especially when I am sitting in the office. Anyone who has read Timothy Ferriss knows what a four-hour work week is. in 2026 I managed to achieve it on the island of Bali, but during the classic week it is not possible for me yet. The main reasons are that I am trying to expand the company, hire more people, cooperate with more external experts and establish a stable management.
When I'm already in office, so I want to be highly productive so that I don't have to be at work for five days during the work week, but rather ride a bike in the woods in the summer and snowboard in the winter.
Productivity I measure with a measuring stick Rescue Time. For those who are not familiar with this tool, I recommend giving it a try. It monitors your open pages and applications on your computer and knows whether you have "Photoshop, Sketch, php Storm" open and you are productive or you are endlessly "scrolling" Facebook, watching Youtube, Netflix and you are unproductive. He also knows Slovak sites, so you won't "fool" him. At the moment, I have a measured productivity close to 90 percent on my desktop.
I use the "Moment" app on my iOS smartphone, which tracks how much you look at your phone or tablet. I try to be on mobile as little as possible, but sometimes it happens that if you use "Waze" navigation and maybe others, it counts as you would stare at it non-stop.
I wrote down a few things that have been working for me lately:
- I get up earlier and I go to the office before seven in the morning. In this way, I will avoid the daily morning traffic collapse and no one will chase me until at least nine o'clock. It also gives me a better feeling about the work done before lunch, and I can also prepare for larger tasks that cause stress.
- I will exercise you are in the morning You've heard it a million times, but you've never committed to it. After a while, everything becomes routine and the feeling of endorphins at breakfast is a healthy habit.
- In addition to software tools, I use for tasks pen and paper. So I can cross off daily tasks after finishing them, mark important ones with a circle or add exclamation points. I have clean paper for every day, which isn't eco-friendly, but it's worth the feeling of crumpling it up and throwing it in the trash when you're done.
- Measuring time through Everhour and via plugin v Asana
- Fast writing to emails. Then I don't have to "keep" it in my head.
- Plugin to Google Chrome, which will cancel the Facebook news feed
- Creation of statistics – measure everything that matters to you on a weekly basis
- You can't be successful at something unless it can be measured
- The graph should have an upward trend
